<description>This project is a Data Visualisation project which I carried out during the 2nd semester of my 2nd year at University.

The task was to pick an area of Newcastle Upon Tyne, and pick a certain aspect of data from that area to display in some sort of visual format.

I worked on this task with a fellow student Liam Owen. We decided to display the colours of the leaves within an area of Leazes Park. We firstly gathered as many different leaves as possible, then came up with the idea of printing the images of the leaves digitally onto Lanterns.

This meant we could print and assemble the lanterns within Leazes Park, therefore displaying the data within the actual park area.

<description>This project is a nice and simple Graphic Design based project, in which I created my own business cards for print.

The first process I started with was how could I make my business card stand out from the rest, without over complicating the design or distracting people from the content.

I therefore settled on a neon-blue for the front, which I think looks really effective, yet is not at all complicated. This allows my logo I created in Illustrator to sit nicely in the middle and also stand out in contrast to the main blue.

The informative side of the business card I decided to leave blank, with a simple light grey shade of text with all the relevant information a business card should have.

The really good thing about my logo I created as well, is that I can easily change the colour of it to suit any future needs. You will also notice I've used the same logo in grey on this site!

<description>This project is a personal project I carried out from mid-September - early October 2011.

Nufc.com is an alternative website used by many fans of Newcastle United. The site itself is ran by two Nufc fans who offer an alternative and some what more personal take on the happenings at Newcastle United, which is why this site has became so popular since it's creation.

The one thing I noticed about the current site, is the general design and functionality seems to be a little dated in terms of its content management, how the information is managed, and the general User Experience.

I therefore set myself the task of carrying out a Front-end Re-design of the site, by organising and condensing the content into a more manageable, sleeker and professional looking site.

My design uses all of the same content as the old site, and even caters for advert space/sponsors, however this is an example of how the information/site could look as oppose to the current site. I feel it is now much improved.

Here is a link to the current site so you can compare here

<description>This project is a project I completed in the 1st semester of my second year at Northumbria University.

The project was carried out for a Games Design Brief, in which we had to design 1 level of our own game in any kind of format we wished. I decided to create a Flash Arcade game called Mini Martians.

The game is a simple Flash Arcade shooter, in which the user has to control their spaceship and shoot down the enemy spaceships before they attack the martians base. Once the user has destroyed all of the enemies, the game progresses to the next level. The levels gradually become harder as the game progresses.

The game was created using Actionscript 2.0 in Flash, and was the very first project I created using Flash. The game is aimed at children, which is why I tried to design it with cartoon-style visuals.

Here is a link to the Playable Demo file in DropBox:

<description>This is a project that I completed in my 2nd year on the Interactive Media Design course at Northumbria University.
The project was carried out for an Innovation &#38; Collaboration module. In this case the project was carried out for the University. For this task, I worked in a group with 4 of my fellow students on the course.

The project involved creating a Design Inspiration Website for The School of Design at Northumbria University. The Design School incorporates a number of courses, ranging from Interactive Media Design, Fashion Design and many more. The website would therefore be used as a tool for design inspiration from past and present students projects and work.

Freshly Squeezed is the Brand name that we settled on as a group for our Website concept. The site works by the user simply searching for the kind of inspiration they want e.g. Fashion Design, which then means that the site will automatically bring up a number of sub-categories or direct results relating to the search.

The search method works by using a simple Tagging system, in which users who upload their work apply Tags to their projects. For example, if a user applies a Tag such as "Retro Fashion" to their project, this will allow the search engine to find this project and display it in the search results if somebody uses those two key words in a search.

<description>This project is what I created as my Final Project at Northumbria University.

The concept is a Fashion Notification App for Iphone, which I have named "nu-threds". I gave it the name as a play on the theme of having new threads, as in New Clothes.

The idea behind this project is to allow the user to gain specific on the go notifications directly to their Iphone of their most sought after Fashion items, with the App essentially eradicating the need to constantly check up on various online shops for new items coming into stock that you may like. The App also provides the user with Style-updates, and has an intelligent suggestion feature which provides fashion suggestions relevant to the user.

I decided to keep the design and general styling nice and sleek, so that the user can use the iPhone capabilities such as gestures and 1 touch navigation to best effect. I also didn't want to over complicate the screens and general use of the App, as often the best Apps are those that the user can use quickly and with little fuss.

<description>This project is a project I completed in my final semester at Northumbria University.

The project was carried out to meet a D&#38;AD award brief, which in this case was sponsored by Taschen, who are an Art Book publisher.

The project involved creating a Digital Tablet version of the Taschen Magazine. Taschen Magazine is a printed magazine which Taschen distribute as a first "port of call" between them and the Target Audience. It contains a massive amount of content, such as Articles, Interviews, a Main Cover Feature and acts as a brochure of new Titles Taschen has for sale.

This task required careful thought between what Taschen wanted/needed, and what would be suitable for the Taschen Target Audience. Therefore I decided to create something that was condensed, yet offered the user everything the magazine does, with the added interactive features capable with the iPad.
